In the article the main attention is paid to the identification of specific features inherent in the Russian utopia and mechanisms of regeneration of utopia in Russia. Besides the peculiarities of the Russian philosophical utopia highlighted and a number of the features that combine Western and Russian utopia. The author defines the utopia as a socio-cultural phenomenon, which includes in itself the specific features of the civilization, on the basis of which it is formed.
